Decades of research has shown the linkage between lack of education and endemic poverty and vice versa. IWA's mission is to provide women and children access to education by funding organizations that work at grassroots level.
IWA has been actively involved in a project with the Purdue University chapter of ASHA a volunteer driven non-profit secular organization dedicated to providing basic education to under-privileged children in India. This project with ASHA serves to enhance the educational experience of high schoolers in the local community by providing them with summer internships that are targeted at building interactive educational materials for marginalized children in India.
IWA's commitment to education will also extend to supporting higher education at Purdue University through fellowship grants to Masters and PhD students pursuing research in areas of Gender and Empowerment.
