1993
IWA was formed.
1995
Inaugural Issue of Sanskriti Magazine published.
1996
First Diwali Program.
1997
- Sanskriti call out for involvement in local community services.
- First time emphasis on social service. LUM the first service partner.
- First time IWA directory, a one page listing of all members' contact details, included with Sanskriti.
1998
First opinion poll in Sanskriti. All 47 members polled about their opinion on India's place in the nuclear world.
1999
- 5 year Anniversary State of IWA compilation creaed.
- Mela '99. Experience Ethnic India at an Indian Village Fair was the first even of its kind seen in this town.
2000
- IWA enters cyberspace and out new website was http;//members.home.com/patel187
- First call out to add email addresses to the IWA directory as a lot of communication was now being done by email.
2001
IWA became a nonprofit 501(c) organization with tax exempt status.
2003
First Valentine's Day Celebration.
2006
Special Diwali color issue of Sanskriti - first and last pages only.
2007
First domain name for IWA called www.myiwa.org.
2009
- IWA formal Board instituted with 2 co-presidents and an Executive Committee, along with a Treasurer and Legal Advisor.
- First Celebration of India draws over 1000 guests.
2010
IWA's new logo makes its debut appearance in Sanskriti newsletter
2011
Introduction of the IWA Facebook page www.facebook.com/myiwa
2013
On the 20th anniversary, the first IWA Recipe Book 'Simply Divine' published.
2014
- New IWA slogan 'Inspired Action.'
- IWA Graduate Student Research Scholarship Award of $1000 instituted at Purdue for graduate students pursuing research on women's studies.
2015
All color issue of Sanskriti printed. The first annual edition of Sanskriti Magazine published.
2016
First IWA Cricket Tournament is a huge hit.
2017
Stunning cookbook 'Dash of Desi' created by IWA members.
2018
- Special 25th anniversary year of IWA.
- Formation of the IWA Academy.
